earth wind and fire gratitude

Earth, Wind & Fire - Gratitude | Releases | Discogs

i have been thinking about favorite albums lately. a friend had been posting about personal top ten list for favorite albums. i guess cassettes/cds/mp3 styled music doesn’t count. artwork had always been the best on real albums!

gratitude by earth wind and fire is in my top ten. the 70s groove of ewf plus their deeply spiritual lyrics/message plus the positive, hopeful, and funky vibe they send in their music– all of this makes them my all time favorite band. especially their early music from the 70s and early 80s.

i had the good opportunities to go to two of ewf’s concerts back in jr and sr high school. live music is the best and they put on a SHOW! their concert album brings forth the earthiness and energy that happens with live music. maybe that’s why this is my fav album

do yourself a favor: listen to album gratitude. of at least listen to “devotion” (about 10:30 mark) and “shining star” (about 33:05 mark)

enjoy!! and have some gratitude today

I saw them freshman year with about ten of us girls. They started the show coming down from glass cones in the ceiling. It was such a cool show.
John and I had a chance to see them last year. Bands don’t always age well. They sure did. Philip Bailey sounded great.
    Hope all is well.
